US Flags are at Half Staff in New Mexico in Honor of Pernell Herrera
New Mexico Governor Martinez has ordered all flags in New Mexico to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in honor of Sergeant Pernell Herrera of the New Mexico Guard. Sergeant Pernell passed away after suffering cardiac arrest while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on December 31, 2010.

New Mexico Governor Martinez has ordered all flags in the State of New Mexico to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, October 14, 2011 in honor of Representative Thomas P. Foy Sr. who passed away last week at the age of 96. Foy served as New Mexico’s Sixth Judicial District Attorney from 1949 to 1956 and represented Grant and Hidalgo counties in the New Mexico House of Representatives for 14 terms before retiring in 1998.

Spc. Carse was a member of the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 176th Engineer Brigade based at New Mexico’s White Sands Missile Range.
